Welcoming the news of X-energy’s and Cavendish Nuclear’s supply engagement on the UK deployment of advanced modular reactors in the UK (link), Tom Greatrex, Chief Executive of the Nuclear Industry Association, said:
“X-energy’s high-temperature design has really exciting potential for industrial decarbonisation, providing clean heat directly to enterprises that are otherwise stuck burning fossil fuels.
“The UK has an unmatched engineering pedigree in these kinds of reactors, so deployment in the UK would be a natural fit. We hope the Government seizes this opportunity for jobs, skills and net zero by empowering Great British Nuclear to drive nuclear development across the country.”
